Anaita © to Tecnia (ME!!!)

Anaita is the hero in the quadrant. Or at least she is in book 2, but the spot-light was stolen in book 3 and 4 for Stella, the villain, who was involved in all these unexplained prophecies. Anyway though, Anaita is your average hero, always putting her friends before herself, is brave, loyal, and kind. Unlike most heros though, she's got her head on straight. At least most of the time.
Her best and first friend was Patricia, who was the first Silver she'd ever known, besides herself and her mother, who was turned in by Anaita's father for the money of capturing a Silver. Anaita took the hint and ran away from home, knowing that if she stayed her Painted (meaning not a Silver-eye and therefore can't use magic) father would be likely to turn her in as well. So for all of her life Anaita has lived on the streets where she works at any restaurant she can find off the street in attempts to get herself a better home. She stole her father's car and taught herself to drive so she can get to where she needs to be without having to pay for the bus all the time. As dangerous as that sounds, though, since she's a Silver she uses, and relies heavily, on her magic to stop herself from crashing. Because truth be told, she's not really a great driver. It can come in handy when you're about to crash and you can suddenly leap over the other car.
But Anaita finds out she isn't the only Silver in hiding, and in fact there are four others who all knew each other, as well as Patricia. Anaita was slightly frustrated by this. All of her life she had to work as hard as she could to try to get a place to hide, never letting her face be seen, when it turns out there's a handful of others like her who live in peace. Of course, they have to hide as well, but most of them have Silver parents as well, so they at least weren't living on the streets.
Also, this group of silvers knew a lot of things about their magic that Anaita didn't, like how to store it, how to summon upon it easily, and they knew about magical items as well, such as the Magus Calx, or, enchanted stone. Anaita knew nothing of this; there had never been anyone to teach her. But she quickly gets the hand of it, and is delighted to find how easy it is to summon magic, and that it barely takes up any energy at all. Thus she is always eager to learn new spells and how things work. She's easily fascinated by her once unknown abilities.
